There is a Lego Club after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Coleridge Primary for Reception to Year 3.
Lego club is a sociable, fun and creative club. It’s what it says on the tin!! I take the children up to the Lego room where they can make their own imaginative creations. I provide the children with a base and sometimes a theme and off they go!
We encourage the children to tell us what they are making with explanations of what each piece of Lego means. This encourages communication of ideas and prompts further questioning and development of those ideas.
Pupils often create pieces with a partner or partners at which point negotiating and team work comes into play.
Pupils are able to save their creations each week so that they can add to them and so develop more complex pieces. It never ceases to amaze me how intricate and detailed their Lego pieces become over the weeks!
